Our mandate is to research, document and preserve the heritage of the communities of Mainland South which we interpret broadly to mean that region of the Halifax Regional Municipality from Armdale to Pennant. This region has a rich history and includes former farm lands, fishing communities, military establishments, quarries, and the sites of pioneer industrial enterprises. [read more]

Photographic Record Collection: Snapshots into the historical lives of Mainland South residents. We aim to document and preserve the heritage of the communities of Mainland South.
Family History Specialty Information: Our archivist keeps a very detailed family tree file of most of the founding family surnames extending to as close to present day as possible.
Historian: Our historian researches topics relating to the history of our communities and the genealogy of our early settlers.
Other Artifacts: In addition to our photographic record collection, we also have other types of artifacts such as postcards, war metals, etc.
